my Dvd Player surround sound sound is played through the TV speakers and not surround sound?
I have a Koss Surround basic sound DVD player with all the connected speakers and audio cables into the TV. However, I am getting no sound from the speakers when attempt to play a DVD?
I am an expert in Home Theater. The best way is to connect the coaxial cable or optical output from your DVD player to the coaxial cable or the optical input of your receiver .. If you do not have optical or coaxial outputs of your DVD player then use red and white wires .. I suppose you have a receiver, will have to decode the digital audio signal coming from your DVD. The speakers are then connected to your receiver, not the TV. Nothing should be connected to the TV except for a video signal (yellow CABLE) preferably coming out of his "monitor output or video output" of your receiver. Your receiver should act as a gateway entry for all your audio / video related components, including your TV for best results ..
